Seremban 75ers

Jalan Rahang

When we were at MRSM, Rahang used to be a quite little place. You could probably lie down in the middle of Jalan Rahang for a whole hour and not get run down by anything more serious than a cat crossing the road. Try that now and they probably cart you off to a hospital with a padded room, or worse, straight to the mortuary.

I was there recently and almost freaked-out. There was a massive traffic jam. The guy I was with, a Seremban resident, explained that this was perfectly normal. I was shaking my head, thinking back to the days when I used to get my supply of cigarettes from the ‘White House’ coffee shop; I never imagined it could ever be this way. And where was Seremban Bowl? I could swear it was there just 30 years ago. Apparently, it’s been turned into a church (I think).

Rahang used to be so dead that half the time I expected to see tumbleweeds being blown across the main street; just like in the ghost towns I saw in old cowboy movies. If I focused hard enough, sometimes I would see Yul Brynner stumbling out of the local saloon. It was a lot of fun then.

Today, if Yul Brynner stumbles out of the local saloon, he’s going to get hit by a Proton Wira.

Yuppp… In fact Padang Rahang used to be so quiet that there’ll be ‘kereta rosak’ there in the middle of the nite. I remembered one night me, Udin and Wan Ahmad rocked the car while the occupants were having steamy passionate moments inside. The couple got the shock of their life because their car was still rocking even when they were done. Winding down the window slightly did the man noticed that there were this 3 kids wetting themselves laughing at what they have just did. We managed to leg it off across the field because the man dare not risk coming after us in his naked condition…

    kjenk,
How come I never get to see action like this? Not fair!
